Georgia has become one of the most requested destinations for Gulf travellers, and the reasons are plain: green landscape, a mild summer, and a manageable flight.
Tbilisi is usually the starting point — an old town of narrow streets, wooden balconies and sulphur baths. From there the trips run north into the mountains and east into the wine country.
The best of it is the road itself. The Georgian Military Highway towards Kazbegi is one of the finest mountain drives anywhere, and a good programme splits the days between city and mountain.
